Mission & Purpose - Matthew 28:19-20
The purpose of Baptist Collegiate Ministry is to reach the lost, teach the Truth of God's Word and equip students, faculty and staff for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up.

Vision
The vision of Baptist Collegiate Ministries at Florida State University is to create an environment of love and acceptance in which students, faculty, and staff come to know Jesus Christ, grow in a dynamic, personal relationship with Him, and become all He created and intended them to be so that they will glorify God in the campus, community, nation and world.

BCM FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
How do I join the BCM? - Great news! Membership is free! There are no dues! If you attend one of our events and fill out an information card, we put you in our database and add you to our email list. You are then considered a member. We hope you will join us!

What if I'm not Baptist? No problem; in fact, many BCM students are from other denominations. All students, all denominations, all faiths are welcome to attend any BCM sponsored activities and events.

Is the BCM a church? BCM is not the church. We are an extension of the church on campus. We strongly encourage students to find a local church home while they are away at college.

How do I get connected to a local church? There are many great churches in the Tallahassee area and several with dynamic ministries for college students that we can point you to. Come by the BCM for a Church Directory and map.

I'm a freshman, what's the best way to get involved with BCM? We kick the year off in August with Survival! We also have ongoing ministry to freshmen through "Fish Schools". You will be a part of a family of 8-10 fellow freshmen with an upperclassman "Mom & Dad". There are many other opportunities to be involved like the Freshmen Campout, Freshmen Field Day, Progressive Dinner to 6 local churches in one night and so much more.

I'm a transfer student, what's the best way to get involved with BCM? Survival is also for Transfers! In addition, we have a Transfer Bible Study and other activities specifically designed for transfers.

What is a Nu-Zu? The Nu-Zu is our weekly announcement sheet that we hand out at Encounter (our Tuesday night praise and worship service at 7 PM in Moore Auditorium). It has all kinds of important information about upcoming events and some random pictures and comments too. You might forget to bring a pencil to class or you might forget to eat breakfast before a big test, but don?t forget to get a Nu-Zu each week at Encounter.

Everyone talks about getting BCM emails. How can I get on that BCM email list and Facebook group? Well, there are several ways. First, you can fill out an Information card at either Encounter or Edge Cafe. We will automatically put you on our list. Second, you can email us at fsubcm@fsubcm.org and ask us to add you to the list.

How can I be a part of the BCM Leadership Team? Applications for the BCM Leadership Team are available the 1st of November each year. We interview those who apply at the end of November and the new Leadership Team begins serving in January. Anyone (even freshmen) can apply.

What if I have more questions? Call, email or come by the BCM if you have any questions. We would love to meet you!
